Despite all the prophets of doom, had a completely trouble free cross-country train trip, Aberdeen to Stroud. Spectacular snowy scenery, blue skies, fantastic clouds (!) and sunshine nearly all the way. The weather forecast was spot on.A mile walk to the car this morning on a crisp white track under a starry sky and half a bright moon: a mile walk at the other end, Orion stretched across the sky and the lights of a picture postcard English village making the snow sparkle. A glass of whisky in front of a log fire at my destination. What a day.
