Up and out as the sun was creeping over the hill, not as early as it sounds up here at this time of the year.
Long shadows, frosted grass, the still and wintry air a contrast to the persistent squalls we`ve had of late, the only sound in the woods the occasional startled pheasant and skeins of geese overhead.
Chores neglected and work later on but it was a good way to start the day.
