Crisp and clear, autumn day? So much for the forecast.
However, went for a morning on Ben Rinnes anyway**

Started up the steady incline that is the walk up this mountain, with views of the Cairngorms in the distance

and the path laid out clearly ahead.

Soon walking into the cloud and a howling gale so the exercise became one of staying upright but hey - once you`ve got going, might as well keep going....

and there was shelter -of a sort - at the top

Three friendly German walkers emerged from the mist and after a brief chat about whisky and weather we scuttled back down and home where the day ended with a pageant....

Er....red sky at night?...we`ll see.....
