Dog and I were completely soaked by the time we got back, having waded through swathes of tall grasses and head-high ferns but that simply added to the tropical feel - and later in the day came the monsoon.

Sometimes it`s like being David Attenborough though he would probably have known whether they were Whitethroats or Garden Warblers or something else I was watching. Kneeling in the wet grass this morning trying to get a proper look (must buy some new binoculars) I wouldn`t have been surprised to see an Orang Utan peering back at me through the undergrowth, especially as the atmosphere was warm and damp - very jungly.
