All about the wind by the time we got out this afternoon, wild but mild enough, unless presaging a short sharp shower when the temperature temporarily plummeted. It pushed at us as we tried to get up the hill (though by the same token we were wind-assisted on the way back down), set the tops of the trees thrashing about and gave the crows a chance to show off their swooping and diving skills.

As the morning clouds were blown away they revealed a palette of randomly daubed blobs of blues and greys, whites and browns over head and on the horizons wind turbines spinning furiously. Their presence may be controversial but this afternoon they only added to an impression of spring cleaning on a grand scale.
